Edi and his wife Marielis felt called by God to reach the Hip-Hop community. So unified in this call, they moved their family from Guatemala to Argentina.
It was 2014. Leaving everything the knew in Guatemala, they moved to Buenos Aires. They felt called to this huge and unknown city because of the need and size of the Hip-Hop community. There was a lot of work to be done!
After years of ministry and financial struggle, Edi left vocational ministry.
Support raising in Buenos Aires felt impossible. Edi’s family and friends in Guatamala did not have the resources to give. Edi was tired of dancing on street corners to make money to feed his family.
Edi started working many odd jobs. He was thankful for the opportunity to feed and house his family. But he no longer had the time or energy to reach the Hip-Hop community.
“This was a hard time in life. I had brought my family down to Buenos Aires but felt like I was mistaken in God’s calling. I couldn’t see how I could be in ministry and provide for my family.”

Break Free met Edi in 2021. As we got to know Edi and hear his heart for ministry, we started casting vision and dreaming together.

Thanks to you, Edi and Marielis have been relaunched as missionaries in Buenos Aires.
God is using your faithful prayers to open hearts to the gospel. Edi has built a team of four other missionaries. They are reaching hundreds in the Hip-Hop community in Buenos Aires.
God is using your generous funding to provide stability to Edi and his family in a very unstable country.
You are changing generations of men and women in Buenos Aires. But you are also changing Edi’s generations. His daughters get to see God’s faithfulness through you!
